10 Reasons to book a private yoga class/session!

You have probably heard that many yoga teachers offer private yoga sessions. So why book a private yoga session?

While many people readily book a personal training session and understand the benefits they will experience from it, when it comes to yoga, a private session is often seen as a luxury or only for celebs.

BUT…there are several compelling reasons to consider booking a private yoga session!

Here are a few reasons:

1.      You can book private sessions at a time and location to suit you, making it easier to commit to your yoga practice and goals. We offer private sessions in our cosy garden studio in Raydon (IP7) but can also travel to your preferred location.

2.      Our bodies and needs are individual and unique, so too are our goals and yoga practices. Whether you are a new yogi, an experienced yogi or have specific health conditions or injuries, a private class can meet you where you are at and be tailored to you, your body and your mind.

3.      If you are new to yoga, private sessions are a great way to learn the essential foundations to help you prepare and adapt your practice for a group setting. You can learn modifications and pose variations to suit your body and grow in confidence as you build strength, flexibility and knowledge. 

4.      If you are a seasoned yogi, you may have picked up bad habits, lost your mojo, or maybe you are just wanting to work on a specific focus or pose.  A private session allows you to work closely with your yoga teacher, as their focus is solely on you.

5.      A private session means the yoga teacher is fully focussed and has their attention on you, and you alone. In a public class, a yoga teachers attention is divided and they must place priority on immediate dangers (i.e. unsafe alignment and movement of students). So whilst they always do their best to support each and every student, it is natural that their attention will be diluted.

6.      You have plenty of opportunity to ask questions, discuss your needs, figure out what works for you, and seek clarification about cues, movements, breath techniques and more.

7.      In a private class, your teach meets you right where you are at. The session will be at the right level and pace just for you. You don’t have to speed up or slow down your practice for anyone else, and the practice can be adapted to suit your energy levels or goals at that particular time.

8.      Just like personal training sessions, a yoga teacher can help you to reach your goals (for body and mind), maintain motivation and continue to progress as you move through each yoga practice.

9.      Private sessions can be as regular or irregular as you like! You can book a private session as a one-off or at a frequency to suit your needs.
